Positive: This was an absolutely wonderful experience. My 10-year-old daughter and I felt safe and well-taken care of. We will go back next time we visit Chicago. :)
Negative: It would have been nice to have discounted parking for guests, but the parking garage was not too bad.

Positive: Updated modern and spacious room. Comfy bed. Quiet location. Walkable to downtown Evanston.
Negative: Some details were overlooked. No shampoo in the bathroom. Broken darkness shade in bedroom. No parking included in the room rate or offered at a discount. Breakfast not included. Dead plants in the planter boxes out front made the entrance look shabby.

Positive: Clean hotel and room, and pleasantly decorated (updated). Bed was comfortable and thermostat in the room worked fine. Staff were pleasant and professional (see below). Location is excellent - on the edge of downtown, walk to shops, restaurants and the lakefront. Sat. a.m. farmer’s market right behind the hotel (it’s a pricey market, though). No concerns about safety walking around the area.
Negative: Though pleasant to speak with, neither of the front desk staff could tell me even the most basic things about Evanston - neither knew which direction was Church Street, or even which direction to get to the El. They were clueless about the town. A traveler expects front desk staff to be familiar with the area. Though our room was booked for 2 people, there was only 1 comfortable chair for sitting (plus 1 desk chair). The desk chair would not be comfortable to sit in for watching tv. So, 1 person has to sit in bed to watch tv - bad for your back.
Summary: Clean and modern hotel in downtown Evanston, would stay again.

Positive: Great location. Extremely friendly staff. Comfortable room.
Negative: Breakfast was good, but the syrup could be better. One cold packet of industrial Mrs. Butterworth’s is pretty lame. At least offer the option of real warm maple syrup—even for a surcharge!
